Strain out the seeds

Flax gel lasts 3 days before it gets rancid. At home I freeze the gel into ice cubes, store the cubes in a ziplock bag then take out 1 cube at a time.

My hair is natural hair. No perm or keratin treatment.

Why would you want to make and use flax seed gel?

It’s completely natural. No chemicals or preservatives.

The ingredients are cheap.

You can make as much or as little as you want.

Flax seeds are full of nutrients. To be honest I am not sure if they can penetrate the hairshaft… cause apparently the “good stuff” in rice water doesn’t; probably does not hurt if it doesn’t.

Add your own nourishing ingredients. Next time I will add an essential oil like Rosemary because to me flax gel stinks.

What’s wrong with boiling flax seeds on the stove?

With the no-boil method, you can make flax gel in a hotel room like I did!

If you have ever had flax gel boil out of the pot, it’s a big sticky mess to clean.

Don’t worry about the flax gel you pack from home spoiling while you are on trips.

Have you tried making your own flax seed gel?
