Before all these food scanning apps, there was the Environmental Working Group (EWG) telling us what to put in our bodies and what to put on our bodies.
They just released their 20th annual sunscreen guide for 2026. Learn how to use sunscreen correctly, how to choose the right SPF for your lifestyle, and which ingredients to stay all the way away from. The EWG rates sunscreens based on the known safety of their ingredients.
The cleanest of the clean products get a seal saying EWG Verified.
A quick way to test the safety of any skincare and body care product is to type “[product name] EWG” in your favorite search engine. Otherwise you can browse on EWG.org
